Besides listening to my stomach growl at how much junk I've eaten in the last 3 days, these are some of the things I've been listening to lately:
Bryan Scary and the Shredding Tears- I know I blogged on them awhile back, but I find them wildly fascinating. They remind me of a lot of the people I used to jam with. Intensely creative and severely misunderstood. If you live Queen or the Rocky Horror Picture Show, you might like BSST.
Film School- First, the things I don't like about this band: they're from SoCal, the lead vocalist lacks frontman charisma, they call themselves psychadelic when they're really shoegaze, and they're not the most original. What I do like about them is that they're a new version of The Cure/Joy Division/New Order/Stone Rose/any band from Northern England. Its really good music for rainy weather.
Santogold- Santi White (Santogold) is a nice addition to my indie repertoire. Although, many of my indie loving friend may scoff at this choice of music because Santogold sounds nothing like Death Cab for Cutie or Built to Spill. Santogold does it all in her own style. She does electronic/hip-hop/pop/indie in a very sincere, yet clever, east-coast way. Some say she sound like M.I.A. . I don't know. I don't listen to M.I.A. This did make me take notice that my collection of music usually hails from Europe or the East Coast. Interesting...
Pendulum: Very synth, drums, and bass oriented, but with at punk mentality. Originally from Australia, but now live in the UK. I'm just starting to get into these guys. I may write more on them later
I really haven't found anything overwhelmingly awesome new since I found Mew a couple of years back. Yet, these are just a sample of some of the stuff I'm into at the moment.

Larry, Tac and I are listening to Pendulum on the player on your blog and we both really like it. We are going to check out more.
Also, we are glad you are trying to move out west again!
